Jay has been living, breathing and coaching kiteboarding on Hatteras Island since the early days. Flying Naish product since 1999, Jay has worked with and learned from the pioneers. He spends winters in "Shacks Beach", Puerto Rico, or Heavenly Ski Resort, California, to further expand his teaching knowledge.
Karen Crawford – Flager College, Florida
Karen has also been involved since “the beginning” of kiting on Hatteras Island as well.
Living on the island for over 30 years! Karen will be booking and scheduling for “OBK” this season.
She also assists with all housing, island information, and women’s camps…
Self-taught land/snowkiter. Moved to maui in spring 2015 and taught for 2 years with Action Sports Maui. James has been kiting for 10 years this summer and can't wait to keep progressing.
Patrick Riley – College of Charleston, SC

Captain Riley brings tons of offshore sailing experience to our team, over 15,000 nautical miles. He spearheads the sailing program and runs boats/jet skis for “OBK”. Surfing daily and sailing in the evenings. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his water experiences…
Rob Freye – Mono Shores High School, MI
Rob is now teaching surfing for “OBK”… Welcome to the team! He has lived on the island for a long time and you will see him in the evenings managing and bartending at our favorite spot, Ketch-55 restaurant!
